Formula Trading Systems combined portfolio approach. Here we combine our individual strategies into trading portfolios. Not all systems do well in every market environment. By combining our trading algorithms together, we are able to smooth the returns. What is nice is the way the trading systems complement one another.
Synergy is our newest release from May 2023. Synergy builds on the foundation of the Spa and Austin automated trading algorithms, while adding an additional ST "short-term" component of diversification by adding a shorter-term time frame to the trend markets and trading them side by side.

Back testing results can and will vary from real time results for a variety of reasons. We did choose to switch our crude oil to the Brent, this had a positive impact on our back tested results (particularly in 2022) vs our real time results using regular crude oil. In addition, there can be technical issues from time to time from the trading platform, operating system, exchange, data connection, etc., when this occurs a trade can be less than or better than the back tested results. Also, slippage and trade execution can and will vary from time to time though we do our best to estimate these as best we can.
